I remembered that almost 12+ companies visited for campus recruitment in the year 2006. Before my engineering results, I was selected through campus interviews in Crompton Greaves Ltd. (CGL), Ambad, Nashik. I must say it is the contribution of college which gave me a great career start in pioneer company. I worked for 2 years in CGL. After that, I switched to ABB India where I worked for 11 years with various job profiles. From the year 2018, I am working at Siemens Limited, Navi Mumbai as Sales Manager.
My journey has been special right from being a part of Crompton Greaves Ltd. then ABB India Ltd. and now at Siemens Ltd. All three companies are top companies in Electrical Engineering. As I am working in International Sales and Marketing, I am interacting with all parts of the world. Learning and development is a continuous process. For various business development purposes, I visited almost 11 countries and the journey continues. Much electrical utility requirement and product customization is part of this business development process. That’s why I secured a personal as well as my organization's goals.
Electrical Department of K K Wagh College of Engineering was a catalyst in my life, I have learned so much during my tenure and all professors have been a big part of that. Professional training, personal skills (like behavioral, soft skills, effective communication) was part of weekly departmental learning activities. These activities helped a lot during my campus recruitment. Library, Big playground, gymnasium, well-equipped laboratories, and experienced professors are a big stakeholder of this college. Various platforms in college helped me to gain knowledge e.g. Industrial visits, workshops, seminars, project competitions, Industry faculty lectures, etc.
Students should take advantage of the available resources in college, not to stick with only the engineering curriculum but take part in various activities available in college. Industry talent acceptance is changed nowadays. The industry does not need superheroes, they just need super minds. Bring your curiosity and imagination in every day, adopt new technologies, like industry 4.0, IoT, learn through various online courses, and take help from professors. Be a ready professional in college itself which will help you to shape your future career.
