IET Karmveer Expo
The Department of Electrical Engineering has been organizing the two days event IET-KARMAVEER EXPO – Project Competition of engineering students, since 2003 with the support of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) U. K. (Formerly IEE). This event has a successful history of 17 years. It was introduced as a Regional Level Event and after three years, it has grown to the National Level in the last 13 years. This year IoT and its application were added considering its potential in various sectors and start-ups. It is open to engineering students of all disciplines across the country. It is a platform that allows interaction between industry professionals and students as well as offers the corporate sector a chance to assess the potential of engineering students.
It is an event showcasing the efforts and expertise in creating innovative solutions to real-world problems by engineering students from all over India. The students exhibit their working models along with posters and presentations. It provides a platform for UG students to opt for start-up/entrepreneurship as a career option. Industry experts are invited as judges. They use a structured evaluation methodology to avoid any bias in their judgment. The best three projects are selected by a panel of judges. The prize amount for the winners is around Rs.2,50,000/-. Electronic and print media always give wide coverage to this event. Many multinational companies showcase their state-of-the-art technology products during the National Level Exhibition in addition to expert sessions.
During these two days, many industry professionals, people from all walks of life and students of all disciplines visit the exhibition. The overall budget of the event is around Rs. 10,00,000/-.
