K. K. Wagh Agri and Allied Colleges organized Intercollegiate Youth Festival -2022

As per the decision taken in the 49th Board of Sports Meeting held on 6th July 2022 at MPKV, Rahuri, K. K. Wagh Agriculture and Allied Colleges were given an opportunity to host Intercollegiate Youth Festival (Indradhanushya) scheduled from 7th- 9th October 2022 at K.K. Wagh Educational Campus, Saraswati Nagar, Nashik. It is the third time the K. K. Wagh Education Society has received the honor of organizing this festival.

In all, total 40 committees were set up for smooth conduction that includes reception, registration, accommodation, food, discipline, culture, photography, advertisement and news, prize distribution, electricity supply, parking etc. committees. Also, a 37-member panel of judges selected the best students and teams from different events.

Dr. V. M. Sewlikar, Campus Coordinator Saraswati Nagar, acted as Main Coordinator, Dr. S. M. Hadole, Principal, K. K. Wagh College of Agriculture, Co-Coordinator and Prof. M.N. Hingane, Principal, K. K. Wagh College of Performing Arts, Prof. B. V. Nagarkar, Dean, K. K. Wagh College of Fine Arts and Prof. S.R. Jadhav, Principal K. K. Wagh College of Fine Arts acted as cultural Coordinator of this Youth Festival.

For the successful conductions of this event, responsibilities were delegated amongst Dr. S. M. Hadole, Principal, K. K. Wagh College of Agriculture, Dr. N. S. Pachpor, Principal, K. K. Wagh College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Mr. N. G. Devshete, Principal, K. K. Wagh College of Food Technology, Mr. V. S. Sandhan, Principal, K. K. Wagh College of Horticulture, Mr. P. P. Jagtap, Principal, K. K. Wagh College of Agriculture Business Management and Dr. H. V. Deshmukh, Principal, K. K. Wagh College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology.

The events slated under the music category were Indian Classical Vocal (Solo), Classical Instrumental, Light Vocal (Indian), Western Vocal (Solo), Group Song- Indian and Western, Folk Orchestra; Folk/Tribal Dance and Classical Indian Dance Events under the Dance category; Literary Quiz, Elocution Competition and Debate; Theatre: Mono Act Play, Skit, Mime and Mimicry; Fine Arts: On-the-spot Painting, Collage, Poster Making, Clay Modelling, Cartooning, Rangoli, Photography and Installation.

649 students from 41 Agri. and Allied Colleges under the jurisdiction of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri had registered for this Youth Festival. In all, 1176 (Boys and Girls) students actively participated in Dance, Music, Drama, Literature Theater and Fine Arts with top participation in Music, Dance, Drama, Fine Arts and Literature events with approximately 200-300 students per event.

Hon. Dr. P. N. Rasal, Dean, MPKV, Rahuri, Hon. Mr. Sameer Wagh, Chairman, K. K. Wagh Education Society, Nashik, Hon. Prof. K. S. Bandi, Secretary, K. K. Wagh Education Society, Nashik, other Dignitaries from MPKV Rahuri, and K. K. Wagh Education Society, Nashik were present for the Inaugural and Prize Distribution Ceremony of three days Youth Festival.

We are proud to say that K. K. Wagh Agri. and Allied Colleges hosted a grand Youth Festival and declared unbiased results without any queries/differences/complaints from team managers and students. Shramshakti College of Agriculture, Maldad has bagged the General Championship and the College of Agriculture, Kolhapur and Agriculture Colleges, Baramati secured second and third positions respectively.

The winning teams and students were honored at the hands of Hon. Dr. P.N. Rasal, Dean, MPKV, Rahuri, Hon. Mr. Sameer Wagh, Chairman, K. K. Wagh Education Society, Nashik, Mr. Ajinkya Wagh, and other Trustees of the K. K. Wagh Education Society, Nashik, Dr. C. D. Deokar, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Dhule, Dr. V. M. Sewlikar, Campus Coordinator Saraswati Nagar, Dr. Mahaveer Singh Chauhan, SWO, MPKV, Rahuri, Prof. Deelip Gaikwad, Sports Officer, MPKV, Rahuri, all Principals of Agri. and Allied Colleges and other dignitaries.

In this Youth Festival, the students of K. K. Wagh Agri. and Allied Colleges were not behind and bagged the prizes in various events. K. K. Wagh College of Agriculture got first prize in Western Instrumental Solo (Music) and Indian Classical Instrumental Solo (Non-percussion), Second prize in Elocution (Literary Event), Debate, Western Vocal Solo (Music) and third prize in Clay Modelling (Fine Arts). Whereas, K. K. Wagh College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology won first prize in Clay Modelling and Second prize in Group Folk Dance and group western singing competition. K. K. Wagh College of Food Technology secured second prize in Quiz competition and third prize in Photography and Mehandi. K. K. Wagh College of Biotechnology got third prize in Clay Modelling and K. K. Wagh College of Horticulture got second prize in Quiz Competition.

Three students of K. K. Wagh Agri. and Allied College have been selected for the Interuniversity Youth Festival, Indradhanushya-2022 and Mr. Shahade Shashank Prashant was the leader of rally and got the 3rd prize in State Interuniversity. Mr. Atharva Sathe, student of T. Y. B. Tech Bio. clinched first prize in Mime and selected for All India Inter Agricultural Universities Youth Festival (‘Agri –Unifest’) to be scheduled from 13th to 17th March 2023 at UAS, Bangalore.

Hon. Dr. P. G. Patil, Vice Chancellor, MPKV, Rahuri, Hon. Dean, MPKV, Rahuri, Student Welfare Officer of MPKV, Rahuri, Sports Officer of MPKV, Rahuri, and all team managers of participants Agri. and allied Colleges expressed their gratitude and heartfelt thanks for the nice arrangement of such a grand event.

Hon. Sameer Wagh, Chairman, and other Trustees of the K. K. Wagh Education Society appreciated the teamwork of all staff members, and all the dignitaries applauded the efforts of the students also for their enthusiastic participation in various events.
