The annual social gathering, “Maffick 2026,” for the academic year 2025-26 was a grand celebration, held from 11th February to 14th February 2026. The event was inaugurated on 11th February by the Director of the Institute, Dr. K. N. Nandurkar, in the esteemed presence of all Deans and HODs. To celebrate this occasion, the theme of Maffick this year is “Youth Carnival – Where Energy Meets Creativity.” The event aims to capture the vibrant spirit, creativity, and energy of youth by bringing students together in a dynamic celebration of talent, innovation, and unity.
Throughout Maffick 2026, cultural events and activities captivated the participants. The celebrations commenced with vibrant competitions like Rangoli, Poster, and Sketching on 11th February also students celebrated Group Day with great enthusiasm. Adding to the excitement, an Open Mic session was introduced to provide a platform for students to showcase their artistic expressions, including singing, poetry, and mimicry at the Institute's open space area.
On 12th February, students celebrated Character Day with great enthusiasm, while soft skill competitions such as Elocution, Quiz, and Debate added an intellectual edge to the festivities. On the same day, a special lunch was organized for students and staff, followed by a mesmerizing musical performance, “Nakshatranche Dene,” featuring Marathi songs, presented by a talented group of students at the Dr. P C Ray Hall.
The spirit of tradition was celebrated on 13th February with Traditional Day, where students adorned ethnic attire, and NSS volunteers showcased a spirited “Lezim” performance in the Institute campus. The cultural fervour continued on 13th and 14th February with a spectacular lineup of events, including Singing, Drama, Dance, Fashion Show, and the much-anticipated Personality Contest, all held in a grand pendol.
On 14th February, students celebrated Corporate Day, highlighting their professional and cultural elegance. The Maffick 2026 was marked by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where outstanding students from the academics and winners of cultural events from Maffick 2026 were recognized for their achievements. The grandeur of the event, Dr. Ritesh Nehete, Director of Compliance at Gurukul Solution Private Limited Pune an esteemed alumnus of the Electrical Engineering Department (Batch of 2000), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The prestigious Best Outgoing Student award for A.Y. 2025-26 was bestowed upon Mr. Suraj Yeola from the Computer Engineering Department and the best outgoing student from female category jointly awarded to Ms. Rucha Malpure of Computer Engineering Department and Ms. Arya Somwanshi, a final year student from Mechanical Engineering Department. Adding to a proud moment of the afternoon was the felicitation of Ms. Arya Somwanshi, a final year student from Mechanical, who was honoured by Epiroc and offered a job opportunity with the company.
