HOD’s Message

The department of Master of Computer Application is committed to quality education and student centric teaching-learning process. The Masters of Computer Application (MCA) is a two years full time postgraduate program, sanctioned by AICTE, New Delhi and Government of Maharashtra with an intake capacity of 120. The program is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and ours is the first institute to offer the program under Faculty of Engineering. Department has attained its distinct identity since 2007. Institute has been granted Autonomy by UGC from the academic year 2022-2023.

As the IT and the software industry are dynamic and fast growing, all the courses are designed keeping in view the requirements of industry. The program aims at the understanding of the fundamentals of computing among the students so that they can compete in the present-day global situation. To enrich the quality and standard of teaching and learning through modern technology and science various facilities such as smart board, Data Projector, Overhead Projectors, License Softwares and Video Conferencing unit are available with the department. The infrastructure includes well developed laboratories, adequate number of computers with latest configurations and internet facilities, spacious seminar hall with audio visual aids and class rooms as well as tutorial room.

The department has received grants from the AICTE for the MODROBs of laboratory and workshop from BCUD, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Department has Secured rank in top ten promising MCA institutes in India, published by “Higher Education Review Magazine”– July 2017 issue.

The department has a well-qualified, experienced and enthusiastic faculties and technical staff. The faculty members play dual roles both as teacher to impart technical knowledge to students as well as a counsellor to guide them for their overall development. Thus we, at department of MCA acts as a catalyst in creating a potential and committed professional, who will play pivotal role as ambassador of technical advancement in the country. Department actively seeks to create opportunities outside of our curriculum for students to develop their professional skills through various certification programs.

The ABACUS club, association of students is vibrant in organizing various events such as expert lectures, seminars, workshops, project competition and industrial visits on a regular basis. Many of our students are rank holders at university level and are placed at multinational organizations with good salary packages and secured important positions. Thanks to the efforts and support of Our Visionary Management, Faculties, Students and all the stakeholders, we continue to play a substantial role in our discipline.

Learning Management System (LMS)

A Learning Management System (LMS) is a software application or web-based platform designed to streamline the administration, documentation, tracking, and delivery of educational courses or training programs. It offers a centralized, automated solution for educational institutions, organizations, and businesses to manage and distribute learning content effectively.

An LMS enables users to create, structure, and manage courses and instructional materials with ease. It allows for monitoring learner progress and maintaining detailed records of their performance. Instructors can design and assess quizzes to evaluate students’ understanding, while also fostering communication between educators and learners—and in some cases, encouraging collaboration among learners themselves.

The platform supports the sharing of diverse content formats such as videos, presentations, and documents, ensuring an engaging and flexible learning experience.
